The Council at Durham is the governing body of the University and its Trustee Board. Council has ultimate responsibility for all the affairs of the University. Council is supported by a number of committees that include: Audit and Risk, Student Appeals, Finance, Governance and Nominations, People and Organisational Development, Remuneration, University Executive and Senate.

Durham University is now seeking a Co-Opted Member of the Audit and Risk Committee to supplement and enhance the skills represented on the Committee and support the University. The Co-opted member will have the skills, experience and connections to contribute to the Committee and the University. Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas: audit, risk, assurance, IT and cyber security, data and digital

The Audit and risk Committee meets five times per year, with three virtual and two in-person meetings. Co-Opted members serve an initial term of three years with the potential for an additional three year term.
